ISPO Munich 2017

Year after year ISPO 2017

We put together a detailed report for you about the annual sports fair ISPO Munich.

This year's ISPO 2017 in Munich was once again an exciting event for us. This year, we presented the development of our PINDING® to the interested and expert audience and received a lot of feedback. Now we are taking stock.

Spot landing

"I'm very proud that today we are presenting the series-based prototype of our PINDING® here at the ISPO 2017! Oh, and I'm pretty tired, too, because I have tightened the last screws on the newly developed heel system at five o'clock in the morning..." This is what our tired but happy CEO and inventor of the PINDING® "Bambam" Markus Steinke was saying during the start of this year's ISPO Munich. The last milled, sintered and 3D printed components of the PINDING® were delivered one day before the exhibition opened. Together with the engineer Michael Kreuzinger, the assembly was started immediately, which was to continue until the early hours in the morning.

Demonstration of the PINDING®

In our second year at the ISPO, we were once again attracting a broad, international expert audience on our booth - thanks to our newly developed freeride binding. On all four days we explained the functionality of the PINDING® to the curious visitors and let them set their hand on our prototype. The following video demonstrates the adaption of the PINDING® between downhill and ascent.

As the name implies, the PINDING® is the logical consequence of ascent-oriented pin technology and a powerful alpine binding: Walking comfort in WALK mode thanks to the integrated pin system in the front-piece. Safety and direct power transmission of an alpine binding with a pivoting heel in SKI mode. Thus, the PINDING® closes the gap in terms of safety, comfort and skiing pleasure and owns an important unique feature. Our main argument safety is supported by the modified pivot heel system and the defined binding release according to a DIN range from 6 - 14, that we demonstrated on a release machine. The rotation of the heel system reduces pre-releases and promotes the sideways release in the front-piece in case of dangerous rotational crashes. The individually adjusted DIN setting ensures the optimal releasing behavior of the binding and thus minimizes the risk of injury.

Quite busy on booth No. 340

In addition to many interested end consumers, numerous dealers, media representatives and a few professional freeriders also passed by in our booth No. 340 in hall A5. Even our competitors paid us a visit to inquire about the development of the PINDING® and to "talk shop". In short, the interest was high. In answer to the question of when the PINDING® will finally be ready, our technical manager Michael Kreuzinger reckoned: "It's self-evident that we will develop a product of the best possible grade and quality. And as long as we do not meet the high requirements 100%, we are not done yet!" The feedback of many visitor was also: "Good things need time and patience is well rewarded... Don't stress yourselves. I look forward to the first run with the PINDING®!"

Our goal is to be able to introduce the PINDING® to the market the coming winter season 2017/18. An ambitious goal, no question! But the signs are good and any further demand for the availability of our PINDING® encourages us massively! 'Cause "With a vision and compassionate friends, you can manage to surpass yourself and push the boundaries." With this in mind: Pin up your ride!
